Mmmmmmn, a tee shirt with someone smoking on it, interesting, mmmmn, but look, look closlier, even closlier, that's not just smoke coming out of that cigarette, that's the whole wide world coming outta there. A pretty ominous message I guess but it's a real nice/clever/thought provoking image none the less. From the website it seems theres some kinda Doomsday clock reference thing going on which is pretty cool, I'm into that kind of shizzle. I'm Banksy, No I'm banksy, and so's my wife.

Brilliant.

When i saw this i nearly spaffed everywhere. Not cause it's in any way, shape or form an amazing print or anything like that but because it's so damn simple and funny and works on a couple of levels. Not only can you walk round pretending to be Banksy (hell, he's not gonna take any credit for what he does so why don't you do it for him?), but the phase I'm Banksy just spawns the classic lines of Monty Python's Life of Brian, which is undoubtedly a great great film. I just have this nice image in my head of hundreds of people walking about London wearing this shirt. That would be great.

Enstrumental

Nice mail from the guys at Enstrumental. First I had heard of them. Got some nice tees on offer, definately got a Hip Hop flava. I like the positive messages that they send out. Alot are font based which i like. I'm especially liking this 'Get off Your High Horse' one featured above. Check out that guy too, he's so cool he wears two watches. That's slick. Anyway, grease yourselves over to their flashy little site and have a goosey gander.

Print Liberation

Print Liberation is in fact a creative design agency based in Philly. However they sent me a mail to tell me about some shirts they were selling.

So, out of the kindness of my heart I trawled my ass over to their store and had a look. Yes, some t shirts, not bad. Nice little site, nicely put together. The thing that caught my eye though was the section marked book. Mmmmmnnn I thought to myself, wonder what that might be about, so I clicked. Lo and behold it's a tasty little book about screen printing. Kinda like a begginners guide, not the most original of ideas but i just liked the way it had been put together, maybe someone who reads this may be interested and get started.

Anyway, get over there, have a look, check out their shirts. Theres some nice prints. I particularly liked the 'Life is What You Make It' print which if it was on a tshirt i may have shelled out some cash for it.

Me&Yu

If you like mosters you're in for a treat. Monsters is the dish of the day for Manchester based Me&Yu. These guys are so close to where I live I can smell them coming off the printing press.

What started out as a little money spinner on Bondi Market, Australia soon turned out to be the successful label that it is now. With a Manchester store the label soon attracted a cult following with celebrities such as Agyness Deyn, Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh), New Young Pony Club, and Joseph Gilgun (This is England) all seen wearing Me&Yu clothes.

They have just opened another new store so the future looks bright for these guys. I've added a selection of my faves. Particularly liking Monster Doodle and Killer Cats (bottom, Salmon), which looks effing brilliant in that colour.

Origin68 - Butterfly Girl

Another great release from Origin68. This time it's Butterfly Girl. This one has been kicking around for a while on the site, so it's good to see it finally up, it looks damn good too. Great colours and a nice design.

All the original designs these guys had up on their site are now in production, it will be damn interesting to see what they put out next. I will be keeping a close watch on these guys as Ive been more than impressed with what they've put out so far.

I'm sure there are millions of you earthlings out there who are well aware of these chappies/chappesses. As for me, I wasn't aware of their work, but now that I am, I'm really glad about it. I like their stuff. Firstly, it's a very tasty looking site, its well put together and functions well, not that this kinda crap usually floats my boat I'm usually more into whether the shirts are nice. However this is good. Secondly, and more importantly, the shirts are pretty tasty. My particular faves are Yay-yo (top) and Can't Stop Won't Stop (bottom), the can't cook, won't cook of the t shirt world. My advice would be, swing by and find your own favourites, that's what all the cool kids are doing.

Art In The Age of Mechanical Reproduction

Two things. (1) Have you ever seen a tee quite like that!? (Top) That's definately one for the people out there who like to be noticed. It's very cool, not sure I could pull it off myself though. (2)Awesome beards. You may have noticed that i have somewhat of a penchant for beards. I've invested alot of time in training my own facial hair over the years so any chance i get to admire some fellow beard wearers is a pleasure. (Tip: If you want to get your shirts noticed then get a bearded model) .Which brings me nicely on to the t shirt at the bottom, well what can i say, it features a beard, its a nice image. Ideal for the people out their who struggle to grow more than bum fluff. The t shirt above the beard is one of my faves, i love the whole random sketchyness, has a kinda Jeff Lewis feel to it which always works for me.

Oh yeah, by the way, these shirts are from Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction based in the US of A. Definately putting the art into tshirts. That's pretty much what I like to see. I'm a simple man with simple needs.

Bountee ( UK)

Had a nice email from Steve from a Uk based shirt company called Bountee. Steve seems like a great bloke. His sites pretty sweet too. It has a great concept.

Basically to cut a long story short, Bountee are using direct to print methods to produce their shirts. This is in layman's terms is sticking a tshirt through a printer, sceptical??? Don't be, I've touched one with my own hands and it's pretty effing good. It enables Bountee and their customers an enormous amount of freedom. Customers can create their own designs just how they want them and then sell them through their shop. Seeing as they print their shirts to demand there is no excess stock and therefore no risk. If nobody likes a particular design it doesn't matter, they havn't lost out and they don't have tonnes of stock lying around. I'm sure the customers and designers love this too, it gives everyone a great deal of freedom. Anyways, I would advise you to check them out, theres something for everyone on there, that's the beauty of it.

I posted up a couple of my faves, the top one being the Peter Saville/Joy Division inspired 'D.A.N.C.E' by a designer called Progeny, and the other below called 'Progress Marches On' by a chap with the name Steve218. I'm sure you will have your own favourites.

Big Chief (Italy)

You have to check out big chief based in Italy. They are a young Milan-based digital communication and graphic design company founded by young passioned and inspired people. They make these quality little dudes that you can construct yourselves from card. Easy as. They do different styles and keep adding new ones so you can get yourself a nice little collection of these fellows. I think I would like to see them do some different shaped characters as opposed to re-dressing the same chap. Either way, they look great sat on your desk.

Jordan Atkinson

Not so much a t shirt brand as a graphic designer who has branched out into t-shirts. I see from his portfolio that he has done a few tour shirts for a few well known bands. I just like the style of these, specially the frankenstein one, nice little frankie goes to hollywood pun going on. Beats those shitty 80's massive text relax rip-offs I keep seeing everywhere. You know the ones I mean, those really tacky looking ones with 'born in the 80's' on. Utter crap. Nothing gets my blood boiling quite like those. So many great shirt designs out there yet people still choose to wear that shit. Anyway yeah, back to the shirts 'ey. I'm not a big winehouse fan, it's a nice print though and to be fair she's got a good set 'o pipes. I put it on there anyway.

Le Filtre Du Monde (Spain)

Not come accross this brand before. They sent me a nice email on the off chance that i may do something about. Well, good news for them, I have. I have to say that i quite like this shirt. I like the colours and i really like the name and the concept. It's titled Sinergia which translates as Synergy: interaction or cooperation of two or more agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. So as far as that definition goes it works pretty nicely.

Strewth mate! Stumbled accross these today. Unexpectedly. Great tees. Theres more than a few designs on their site that i would happily part with cash for.

I have decided to post my three favourites. The top one is called Farewell to My Concubine by Kenneth King, I'm not sure the image on here will do it justice but theres some super sweet details on this baby. I'm not a big fan of white tees either but this gets my vote. In the middle is Fresh Air by Chalermphol Hanchakum. Nice colours, nice print. Butterflies, swirls and pretty faces, always a nice combo. Maybe an overdone style but this works for me. And finally is Monstrocity by Jan Avendano. They are some cool little monsters. Nice hand drawn quality to this one which i like. Too many of those digital vector monsters around these days.

Origin68 (Manchester) - More Designs

Seems like the Origin68 boys are keeping themselves busy. They appear to be going from strength to strength and have added 2 more designs to their small but perfectly formed gallery. Still no sign of those free refreshments promised on the site though!!

The first is titled Come Get Me (it reads " come get me you bastards"), as far as we can make out it will suit folks who like green, deer, the countryside and abusive language. Its a nice simple design with a good message.

The second is Grizzly Bare, a collaboration with a band from Leeds called.....yes you guessed it....GrizzlyBare. We don't know much about the band but we had a look at their myspace http://www.myspace.com/grizzlybare and they rocked. Double result.
